{"id":3168,"date":"2026-10-12T12:33:00","date_gmt":"2026-10-12T17:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lakedelhi.org\/?p=3168"},"modified":"2026-10-12T12:33:00","modified_gmt":"2026-10-12T17:33:00","slug":"voting-timelines-for-the-november-3rd-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lakedelhi.org\/?p=3168","title":{"rendered":"Voting Timelines for the November 3rd Election"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The $9,200,000 GO referendum will be on the November 3 general election ballot for voters in the Lake Delhi Taxing District to vote on.<\/strong> It is illegal to vote in two different Counties for any election, so you either will need to vote in Delaware County or your home County. You cannot vote in both even if absentee voting in one and voting in person in another. Checks following the election are done and you can be prosecuted for voting in two locations for the same election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>October 14, 2026-Absentee Voting begins<\/strong> in the County Auditor\u2019s office, 301 E Main Street, Manchester, IA 52057 during normal business hours. There will be two Saturdays prior to election, October 24<sup>th<\/sup> (8 am \u2013 12 pm) and October 31 (9 am \u2013 5 pm) that the Auditor\u2019s office will be open for absentee voting. You may also request an absentee ballot from the County Auditor\u2019s office, contact 563-927-4701. &nbsp;&nbsp;Last day to request a ballot by mail Is Monday, October 19<sup>th<\/sup> at 5:00 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Please note that the County Auditor will be sending out election information to all current registered voters of the Lake District sometime between 10 days and 20 days before the election.&nbsp; If you do not receive this notification it means you have not registered to vote in the district.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>October 19, 2026<\/strong> is the last day to pre-register to vote in Delaware County.&nbsp; After this date you will need to following election day registration guidelines and show proof of identity and residency in the district.&nbsp; If your driver\u2019s license does not show your lake address, you will need at least one item with your lake address (property tax statement with your name and address would suffice)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>October 20-November 2, 2026<\/strong> you can register to vote in the County Auditor\u2019s office but must also VOTE that day.&nbsp; Proof of identity and proof of residency (property tax statement with your name and address would suffice) will be required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>November 3, 2026 is election day<\/strong> &#8211; you can register and vote at the polling location but it will require proof of identity and proof of residency as stated above.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are currently registered to vote in the Lake Delhi Taxing District nothing additional is required, you can vote absentee ahead or vote day of election at the polling location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can register to vote at a Dept. of Transportation (DOT) location through 5:00 p.m. on October 19<sup>th<\/sup>. &nbsp;County Auditor\u2019s office or by printing out, signing and mailing in a Voter Registration Form on the Secretary of State\u2019s website:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delaware County Iowa Elections Page <a href=\"https:\/\/delawarecountyelections.iowa.gov\/%20Iowa\">https:\/\/delawarecountyelections.iowa.gov\/ Iowa<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Secretary of State Voter Information Page <a href=\"https:\/\/sos.iowa.gov\/voters\/voter-registration\">https:\/\/sos.iowa.gov\/voters\/voter-registration<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The $9,200,000 GO referendum will be on the November 3 general election ballot for voters in the Lake Delhi Taxing District to vote on.
